Grace Farms continues its alignment with global leaders to combat format forced and child labor

Grace Farms is pleased to announce its partner status with Alliance 8.7, a global partnership that is taking immediate and effective measures to eradicate forced labor in accordance with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target 8.7. Target 8.7 calls for “immediate and effective measures to eradicate forced labor, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labor.” This strategic alignment reinforces Grace Farms’ commitment to advancing human rights and ethical business practices worldwide.

“Engaging with Alliance 8.7 and its committed partners is an important moment in Grace Farms’ ongoing commitment to eradicating forced labor from the building materials supply chain,” said Sharon Prince, CEO and Founder, Grace Farms Foundation. “This amplifies our collective impact and creates new pathways for collaboration with international leaders who share our vision of a world free from forced and child labor.”

International Lead, Design for Freedom, Elaine Mitchel-Hill added, “Our alignment with Alliance 8.7 means that we’re joining forces with over 400 leading global organizations all focused on scaling up solutions and driving innovation to eradicate forced labor, modern slavery, human trafficking and child labor. This is a major positive step forward for the Design for Freedom movement.”

Alliance 8.7 works with Pathfinder Countries, partners, and other stakeholders to galvanize worldwide commitments and coordinates actions to address the challenges of modern slavery and child labor. These countries, from Albania to Vietnam, have committed to advance Target 8.7 by accelerating efforts, trying new approaches, and collaborating with others. Countries exchange experiences, challenges, and progress as they work to eliminate forced and child labor.

By engaging with these influential international initiatives, Grace Farms will contribute its expertise to collaborative efforts aimed at eradicating modern slavery, while gaining access to valuable resources and networks to strengthen its work. This partnership marks a significant step in Grace Farms’ mission to create meaningful change through responsible and sustainable practices that respect human dignity across global supply chains.

This next step in Design for Freedom’s international presence is further compounded by the recently released International Guidance & Toolkit. The Guidance & Toolkit explores the critical issues related to forced labor in the building materials supply chain and proposes responses to address them, provides new expert perspectives on the industry through an international lens, and examines specific materials at high risk of forced and child labor. New data, insights, tools, and strategies are freely available for all practitioners across multiple sectors.
